Our Story

“We love where we live and it makes us very proud to showcase the best of what it has got to offer.”

The Leaf & Larder Story

Over the past few decades, Ireland’s wealth of food producers, makers, and growers have been the foundation on which Ireland’s food industry has blossomed.

Sister’s Selina O Connor and Monica Walsh followed there lifelong ambition to open their own business and so Leaf and Larder opened its doors in December 2020 with the aim of producing fresh, wholesome sandwiches, salads and takeaway meals.

“Some people think we are mad opening a new business in the middle of a global pandemic, but there is never a bad time to fulfil your ambitions and provide your local community with a quality service.”

The Leaf & Larder Story

Over the past few decades, Ireland’s wealth of food producers, makers, and growers have been the foundation on which Ireland’s food industry has blossomed.

Sisters Selina O’Connor and Monica Walsh followed their lifelong ambition to open their own business in Killorglin, Co. Kerry in late 2020.

They both grew up in a house where good quality home grown produce was readily available as well as fresh meat, milk and eggs from their nearby farm.

Coupled with their mother’s ability to turn these items into tasty, wholesome meals and baked items, is what has inspired them both from a young age.

Selina trained as chef at RTC Tralee and then went to Birmingham College of Food Tourism and Creative Studies to further her training in the area of bakery and confectionary. She already has an existing business Selina’s Cakes, that continues to produce bespoke, hand-crafted cakes for weddings, birthdays, christenings and all other special occasions.
